Some administrators may need to monitor user activity on the intranet. Colibo has planned for just this occassion and has provided all users with elevated permissions, the ability to access a variety of data about the use of the intranet.
Activate your elevated rights and add the word '/statistics' to the end of your intranet URL:
Doing so will allow you to see the number of viewed news and events, and goes one step further by showing you the amount of people that actually READ these items. You can also find statistics on documents and searched items.
The results can be listed from most sought after to the least viewed, or viewed as a diagram by clicking the dropdown attached to the desired table.
The tables are sorted by total views, individual views and the percent of users on the intranet that has seen or searched for the item.
These statistics can be sorted by date, and if you want to see which departments are active on the intranet, you can do that to! Click the 'Entire Organization' button under 'Department', and select the department you wish. At this time, only one department can be chosen at a time, and the statistics window does not monitor Work Group activity.
Administrators can also see the number of intranet logins per day, and how users are logging into the intranet. At the bottom you can see which browsers are being used, and how many users are logging into the intranet via mobile device. The statistics page is easily printable for documentation purposes.
If you wish to see your intranet activity, and measure how to improve your site's search results, the statistics function is the perfect tool.
