Intro

Choosing the right picture quality and ratio for your widgets, news articles, events, icons, and such in Colibo is quite simple.

As a standard the ratio of the picture needs to be 16:9 and a quality of minimum 848px and a maximum of 1600px. The reason we suggest a maximum of 1600px, is because of the size of the image file. If the size of the picture is too big, your Environment will slow down due to loading time of the image. We suggest that the picture should be a JPG file since it has great balance between the size of the file and quality of the picture.

If you follow these standards your environment will be a smooth and clean experience for your users and yourself.

Colibo support the following image file types:

.Jpg, .png, and .gif (Not animated)

Widgets

All these widgets need a ratio of 16:9 and a minimum of 848 and a maximum of 1600 pixels:

• Curated news
• Favorites
• Image
• Image List
• Link List
• Pinned News
• Rich Test
• RSS news

Other images that require a different format to get the best result.

We suggest a image with the format 64x500px.

Since this gives a smooth experience when hovering over the menu.

You can crop what part of the icon is shown when the menu is not

Interacted with. You are able to do that in the system administration -> theme editor.

 

Banner Widgets

The width of the picture needs to be 848px.

• Banner – Large. Image ratio 25:12, or 848px width and 407px in height.
• Banner – Medium. Image ratio 25:6, or 848px width and 203px in height.
• Banner – Small: Image Ratio 25:3, or 848px width and 101 pixels in height.

Background Widget

• The Background Widget needs a resolution of at least 2560x1440px. Our recommendation is to go all the way up to 3840x2160px.
• Please be aware that images should stay below 500 kb in filesize so it does not affect performance on page load.
