The search engine in Colibo listens to titles, descriptions and search words. So when creating the documents it is not necessary to fill out the search words if they are already in the title and description. This would only be double work and will not give a better search result.
Our recommendations for using and working with search words is to avoid using them when creating the information hierarchy and creating new content and then only focus on filling out the title and description as focused as possible.
After a while, follow up on statistics for the intranet (type in your url address followed by "/statistics"), read more about Statistics here. What are the users searching for when using the search field? Are they finding what they are looking for? If not, then start working with search words now and choose the words the users are searching for – make it easier for them to find the items they are looking for.
If certain topics are searched for again and again, and you know there is no content related to this, you can consider if there should be created some content regarding this. Another possibility is, that the content actually is there, but not with the search words that the users use. In this case, it would be useful to write these words as search words on specific content and thereby make the search result better.
Searchable titles and logical search words
If a user needs to find a specific document, what word would that person search on? Be inspired from how you search on for example Google. You can assume that your users have the same mindset, when they search on Colibo.
Filled-in and meaningful descriptions
The descriptions/manchet are searchable in the same way as the title. At the same time, it is visible in the search field when the user is searching, which gives the user a greater insight into the content of the document/page. Therefore, the description field can to a great extent be used to help the users consider whether the content is relevant to them.
