A new feature added by Colibo in the 18.3 platform is an urgent news, System Message. When activated, the message is displayed on every page of the intranet. Members of the organization will have the option to shrink the message, but the headline it will remain on the intranet until it is removed.
System administrators can create a message to the entire organization. Select the elevated permissions cog located at the upper right-hand side of your screen and select System Message. Here you can create the title and message. You can select the level of importance using the severity dropdown. You can also let readers know the importance of your message by setting the severity to Informative, Severe or Critical.
The content table gives you all the options you are familiar with at Colibo. Creators can insert tables, change formats, add links and various other options. The video option cannot be used by the system message.
The system message must be set to expire with the date and time options located at the bottom of the page. When the deadline is reached, the 'Turned on' checkbox will be unmarked and the message will no longer be displayed on the intranet.
System Administrators can turn the system message on or off by simply clicking the 'Turned On' checkbox. This allows a more flexible approach to your system message. Instead of deleting the message, you can simply turn it off until you feel you will need it again. There is only one system message available at a time. To create a new system message, delete the previously entered information and create your new message.
Administrators with access to the Umbraco backend can add the system message feature by logging in and click the three '...' next to the Plugin folder. From here you can create a new Plugin. Create a name for your system message plugin and add the code 'Sinas.Plugins.SystemMessagePlugin' in the Types area.
Whether it is for information purposes or emergencies, Colibo's System Message is the way to let your organization know!
